Rev. John M. Wilke

Pastor Wilke is a graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin earning a B.A. degree in Secondary Education/English.

Pastor Wilke’s first teaching job was at Lutheran High School South in Houston where he taught for 6 years. He taught English, Keyboarding, Literature, Speech, and Choir. He also coached Cross Country, Baseball, Football, and Basketball.

After leaving Lutheran High School, John began teaching at Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball, Texas. His teaching duties included English, Speech, and Yearbook. He also coached Cross Country, Baseball, and Basketball. He served at Concordia for only 1 year before being called by the Lord to move to a different kind of church work. He spent the last three years before coming to the Seminary as Minister of Music, Youth, and Young Adults at Epiphany Lutheran Church. His duties included directing the church choir and bell choir. He was responsible for planning all music and liturgy for the church service. He led the Jr. High and Sr. High youth ministries. John led the Wednesday morning ladies Bible study, and taught the Friday night contemporary service. It was during this time that he began to realize “My desire to continue my education at the Seminary.” John is also currently working on a Master’s Degree in Christian Education from Trinity Bible College.

On August 2, 2003, Pastor Wilke wed Bianca Ann Schutte of Houston, at Epiphany Lutheran Church. Bianca is a graduate of Fontbonne University in St. Louis with a degree in Biology. Her plan is to continue on to graduate school to earn her Master’s in Occupational Therapy. While in St. Louis she spent two years working with autistic children as a Lead Therapist. Bianca loves to sing as she has been blessed with a wonderful voice.
